In 2024, Transcelestial reached a defining milestone: deploying over 150 kilometers of laser networks capable of delivering at least 1.8Tbps of data daily across the globe.

But this achievement is about more than a number—it’s a testament to our groundbreaking laser communication technology and unwavering commitment to bridging digital divides. From transformative partnerships to industry-first deployments and forward-looking innovation, this has been a year of global impact.

Here’s how Transcelestial has been shaping the landscape of connectivity, worldwide.

The Impact of 150km+ of Lasers

Deploying over 150 kilometers of laser networks marks a significant leap forward for Transcelestial.  Each lasercomms link represents a leap in overcoming traditional connectivity barriers, whether in remote villages, bustling urban hubs, or even across challenging terrains.

We transformed connectivity across borders:

  • In Mongolia, our lasercomms technology overcame the country’s vast, rugged landscapes and harsh climates to deliver fiber-speed connectivity where cables couldn’t reach.
  • In India, we empowered port operations and university campuses with high-speed connectivity, even in environments where traditional infrastructure faced insurmountable challenges.
  • In the Philippines, we deployed laser technology in regions like Mindanao and Visayas with Globe Telecom, overcoming geographical barriers to bring transformative connectivity to underserved communities.
  • In North America, our supplier agreement with Wesco International marked a pivotal moment for us in the United States. By integrating CENTAURI into Wesco’s portfolio, we’re enabling operators, enterprises, and governments to access secure, high-speed connectivity solutions.

We broke ground in event connectivity:

  • At Coachella, our CENTAURIs brought the first-ever lasers to power 5G connectivity for concertgoers. Even at the edge of the desert, T-Mobile customers experienced peak speeds over 7.5x faster than the major telco’s closest competitors, despite high wind speeds and geographic-specific hurdles.
  • At the Philippine Arena we piloted a lasercomms system for an event that gathered thousands. The event marked the first time a lasercomms system was deployed in the Philippines showcasing a new blueprint to drive the nation’s infrastructure forward with an agile laser-based solution.

We restored critical communications amid natural disasters:

  • This year, Transcelestial’s CENTAURIs transformed disaster recovery efforts worldwide. When seismic events struck, major telcos tapped on our lasercomms solution to ensure their critical operations remained online, no matter the challenge.
  • The Disaster Recovery: Restoring Critical Communications report was launched to share industry learnings about how disaster recovery plans can be fortified with lasercomms.

We laid the foundation for connectivity beyond Earth:

  • This year also saw the launch of a groundbreaking collaboration with Axiom Space, where we’re pioneering space-based laser communications. By aligning our efforts with leading space innovators, we’re preparing for a future where connectivity extends seamlessly between terrestrial and orbital networks.

Tackling connectivity challenges has always been complex, but with the power of collaboration, we can ensure no one is left behind. These deployments and partnerships demonstrate how our technology is redefining what’s possible in connectivity, making high-speed internet access more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready.

The Future, Beyond 100

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re already looking ahead. Our plans for 2025 and beyond are ambitious:

  1. Scaling Innovation:
We’re advancing towards even faster connections with 25Gbps capabilities and exploring intersatellite communication to extend our reach further into space. With growing adoption across Asia, North America, and Europe, we’re set to double our production links and expand our footprint in underserved regions.
  2. Pioneering Scientific Progress:
Pushing the boundaries of science and technology is vital to revolutionising global connectivity. This year in a significant step in our journey to further this, Transcelestial formed a Scientific Advisory Committee with the inaugural appointment of Prof. Qiu Cheng Wei. Named the Brain Trust, the committee will support our research direction, validate our technological approaches, and ensure we remain at the cutting edge of laser communications and related fields.
  3. Exploring New Applications:
We’re actively exploring opportunities in defense and national communications, leveraging the unique capabilities of CENTAURI links to address the challenges of secure, high-speed data transfer in critical scenarios.

As 2024 comes to a close, we want to thank our partners, customers, and team members who made this year unforgettable. Deploying over 150 kilometers of lasers wasn’t just a milestone—it was a shared achievement that reflects the dedication, collaboration, and innovation driving Transcelestial.

This is just the beginning. With each kilometer of laser deployed, we’re building toward a future where connectivity knows no limits.

Together, we’re shaping a world where every corner of the globe is within reach.
