At Transcelestial, we’ve always believed that pushing the boundaries of science and technology is vital to revolutionising global connectivity. Today, we’re thrilled to announce a significant step in our journey: the formation of our Scientific Advisory Committee “BRAIN TRUST”
This committee will play a crucial role in shaping our research directions, validating our technological approaches, and ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of laser communications and related fields.
The role of our Scientific Advisory Committee
The formation of this committee marks a new chapter in Transcelestial’s commitment to scientific excellence and technological innovation. The Scientific Advisory Committee will:
- Provide expert guidance on our research and development initiatives
- Offer insights into emerging trends and technologies in laser communications and related fields
- Help validate our technical approaches and methodologies
- Facilitate collaborations with academic institutions and research organisations
Welcoming our inaugural member
At Transcelestial, we believe that the future of global connectivity lies in the convergence of visionary science and innovative technology. With the formation of our Scientific Advisory Committee and the appointment of Prof. Qiu Cheng Wei, we’re taking a significant step towards realising that future.
We are honoured to introduce Professor Qiu Cheng Wei from the National University of Singapore as the first appointed member of our Scientific Advisory Committee.
Prof. Qiu, is is Fellow of APS, Optica, SPIE and The Electromagnetics Academy, US. He is a renowned expert in optics and photonics who has authored over 580 peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher for five consecutive years (2019–2023). He has been honoured with Singapore’s highest scientific award, the President’s Science Award 2023, for his groundbreaking work in structured light and interfaces.
His pioneering contributions to the field make him an invaluable addition to our Scientific Advisory Committee, accelerating our mission to revolutionise global connectivity through advanced laser communication technology.
Welcoming Professor Qiu to the Transcelestial’s Scientific Advisory Committee, Mohammad Danesh, CTO and Co-Founder of Transcelestial shared:
”Prof. Qiu has shown me that true innovation often comes from cross-disciplinary thinking. He has an extraordinary ability to synthesize insights from optics, quantum physics, and electromagnetics into groundbreaking applications. His expertise extends far beyond traditional boundaries, bringing cutting-edge concepts like cloaking, metamaterials, and optical force into fields that might not typically intersect with them such as thermodynamics and AI. This multidisciplinary approach, especially in the realms of optics and electromagnetics, will be invaluable as he advises us in pushing the frontiers of laser communication. His vision and deep understanding of these fields are critical as we work to harness advanced scientific principles to develop laser communication systems that will not only redefine global connectivity but also challenge and expand what’s possible in our industry.
Shaping the future of connectivity with the industry’s best
As we embark on this exciting new phase, we’re actively in conversation with distinguished scientists and researchers to add value to our Scientific Advisory Committee. We’re excited to be building a board that is passionate about pushing the boundaries of laser communications, photonics, and related fields.
