Kuala Lumpur, 25 March 2025 – YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (“YTL Communications”) has signed a significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Transcelestial, a pioneer in laser communications technology. This strategic collaboration aims to bring cutting-edge technology solutions to businesses in Malaysia by enhancing connectivity and AI capabilities across the nation.
The MOU was signed by Wing K. Lee, CEO of YTL Communications and Dinesh Kumaran, Head of Sales at Transcelestial, witnessed by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching and Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee Hong Leong, Commission Member of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in Barcelona, Spain.

Upgrading Cell Tower Connectivity with Lasers, Nationwide
YTL Communications is one of the the first telco in Malaysia to harness Transcelestial’s wireless laser communications technology to deliver a network with fibre-class connectivity with a new level of flexibility. This cutting-edge solution eliminates the need for physical cables, enabling fibre-class ultra-low latency and high-capacity connections, even in locations that are traditionally hard to reach or maintain using conventional fibre technology.

Transcelestial’s shoebox-sized CENTAURI devices offers unparalleled deployment flexibility to deliver high-capacity spectrum-free connectivity through lasers, without the need for physical fibre cables.
